Marie Hall Smith, having worked under the tutelage of her legendary mother Elima Hall O.D since 1997, took over the reign of the enterprise of both the Salon/Spa and Training Institute in 2006, when her mother passed on. Her continued stewardship of a Training Institute and advocacy of high international standards to provide oversight to the Beauty Therapy industry, has allowed her to make tremendous impact on thousands of young Jamaicans who have become Beauty Therapy professionals locally, regionally and internationally.
Determined to expand her mother’s and her own vision of providing quality training to meet the demands of the Skin Care Industry and to contribute to the development of individuals and nationhood, Marie set out and accomplished the following:
• Expanding and building capacity to increase the number of enrolled participants in the Institute’s Training programmes.
• Receiving recognition from an accrediting body by establishing and implementing a Quality Management System for both the Salon/Spa & Training Institute ensuring continuous improvement in services delivered.
• Ensuring the consistency of the development and delivery of National and Regional training standards by attaining independent school recognition from the Ministry of Education.
• Providing Consultancy services to stakeholders in the Spa, Hospitality and Wellness Industries.
